About zombo.id
What zombo.id is, how it collects live Project Zomboid server data, and what every reading means. An unofficial, real-time monitor of the global PZ multiplayer population.
What is zombo.id?
zombo.id is a live, unofficial monitor of the global Project Zomboid multiplayer server population. It tracks tens of thousands of servers and shows survivors online, mods, ping, PvP/PvE, map, build and population history. It is not affiliated with The Indie Stone.
How does zombo.id collect server data?
Servers are discovered from Valve's Steam master server list, then queried directly over the A2S protocol for live details like player count, map and mods. A background poller re-checks populated servers every few minutes and the full roster on a longer cycle.
What does "your ping" mean?
zombo.id measures latency to each server from a mesh of relay stations on every continent. "Your ping" is the round-trip time from the relay nearest you (resolved from your approximate location), so it reflects the latency you would actually experience, not a single number from one place.
How often is the data updated?
Continuously. The list and every server dossier refresh live, populated servers are re-queried roughly every few minutes, and global figures update on the same cadence.
How do I find a server to play on?
Use the browser on the home page to search by name, IP, map or mod and filter by region, ping, players, PvP/PvE, mods and build. You can also browse by continent, or open a server's dossier for its full history, direct-connect address and signal quality.
Is zombo.id official or affiliated with The Indie Stone?
No. zombo.id is an independent, unofficial project. Project Zomboid is made by The Indie Stone; zombo.id is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Run a server? Manage its mods with pzmod
zombo.id is where players find servers. pzmod is the tool a server owner uses to build and maintain one. It is a free, open-source terminal app and CLI for the mods on a Project Zomboid dedicated server: it searches the Steam Workshop, resolves dependencies, manages load order, validates before boot, keeps timestamped backups, and edits servertest.ini in place. Build 41 and 42 aware.
